Saudi industrial and commercial service provider Sherbiny Holdings will establish an engineering service centre in Gödöllő; the value of the investment exceeds HUF 150 million (EUR 481 000).

The project was announced by Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade László Szabó, who said that the company’s first office outside the Persian Gulf region will start operations in April. As a result of the investment, 50 new jobs will be created; both experienced and fresh graduate engineers will be employed by the company.

He explained that the Hungarian state will establish 7000 new workshops and will spend a further HUF 50 billion on the dual system of vocational training launched more than two years ago to ensure that the Hungarian labour force will meet the future needs of the industrial sector.

He added that, in order to enable continuous improvement, HUF 700 billion will be earmarked on R&D and innovation until 2020 following the granting of a record high financial support of HUF 118 billion in 2013.

Chairman and CEO of Sherbiny Holding Mohammed Sherbiny said that after having examined several countries, they had chosen Hungary for its qualified labour force and favourable investment environment. The office will primarily perform engineering design tasks related to Saudi Arabian oil and gas projects.

Sherbiny’s subsidiary in Hungary, Sherbiny Engineering and Innovation Center Kft., was founded in November 2014. The Budapest-based company primarily provides technical consultancy and engineering services.
