The session of the Hungarian-Serbian Cabinet summit began today with a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and Serbia’s Minister for EU Affairs Jadranka Joksimović, the Ministry said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI.
Mr. Szijjártó highlighted the fact that Hungary is a committed supporter of Serbia’s European integration aspirations, “the success of which we regard as one of the most important guarantees of Western Balkan security”, the statement said.
The ministers agreed that the Hungarian Government would continue to delegate an expert to assist the Serbian Chief Negotiator in future.
“Hungary is providing all possible support to the Bulgarian EU Presidency to enable it to open as many negotiating chapters as possible with its Serbian partners during the first six months of this year”, Mr. Szijjártó said.
