The Foreign Ministers in office of the Visegrád countries take the view that Europe and the European people have been attacked. According to the Saturday communiqué of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade forwarded to the Hungarian News Agency MTI, Czech Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek, Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak and Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó conducted consultations.

The Ministers consulted by telephone with respect to the current situation. They agreed that in the wake of the instability which has evolved in the southern neighbourhood of Europe, the threat of terrorism has intensified in Europe to an unprecedented level, and we must do everything we can in the interest of the security of Europe. The issues of regional and global action against terrorism are coming to the forefront in foreign policy cooperation more than ever before, the communiqué of the Ministry reads.

Elections were held in Poland at the end of October, and the new Government has not yet entered into office.
