“The 1000 world-class quality respirators ordered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and which have already been manufactured by Celitron Medical Technologies Limited, will be made available to the Hungarian healthcare system within just a few days”, Péter Szijjártó said in Vác on Friday.

At a press conference held at Celitron Medical Technologies Ltd.’s headquarters in Vác, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade told reporters that the Hungarian-produced respirator is the best on the world market today from a technological perspective: it may be used for patients of any age, has a low energy consumption, and can operate independently from the compressed air supplies available in the intensive care units of hospitals. He added that the respirators have been tested at the Hungarian Defence Forces Medical Centre, the University of Debrecen Hospital and the Semmelweis University of Medical Science (SOTE), and have received only the best feedback from everywhere. 900 of the finished pieces of equipment are ready for shipment, and the remaining 100 are still being tested.
Parliamentary State Secretary Bence Rétvári from the Ministry of Human Capacities, who is also the region’s Member of Parliament, said that self-sufficiency has become increasingly valuable to ever country during the coronavirus epidemic, and accordingly the fact that Hungary is capable of producing large quantities of respirators of a kind that could stand their ground in any hospital around the world, provides a major level of security. “We are very proud of the fact that all this has become possible here in Vác, thanks to the work of Hungarians”, the State Secretary added.
