“New waves of migration could set out for Europe as a result of the coronavirus pandemic; this must be prevented in view of the fact that in addition to a security risk, illegal migration now also represents major health and economic risks”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó highlighted at a joint press conference with his Cypriot counterpart in Nicosia on Friday.
“A new wave of migration would represent a major health and economic risk, and the coronavirus could cause an increase in illegal migration in view of the fact that the pandemic has had a greater effect on countries that were already in a difficult situation”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared at a joint press conference with his Spanish counterpart in Madrid.
“Hungary supports the convening of an extraordinary session of the UN General Assembly to discuss the handling of the coronavirus pandemic, as initiated by the Azerbaijani government”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on his Facebook page on Thursday.

“Based on last week’s decision on the part of the Cabinet, a National Export Protection Program is being launched with a budget of 25 billion forints (EUR 71.65 million) within the framework of the Economy Protection Action Plan to support Hungarian enterprises that wish to grow and expand on export markets, or acquire new markets”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on Monday at an event in Budapest to ceremoniously sign cooperation agreements with eight enterprises that are joining the Priority Exporter Partnership Program.
“The 806 enterprises that are making use of competitiveness-increasing funding have undertaken to realise 377 billion forints (EUR 1.09 billion) in investment over the coming months, and by doing so are protecting 143,618 workplaces, towards which the government is providing 169 billion forints (EUR 487.3 million) in funding”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó emphasised in Székesfehérvár at a ceremony to present the related funding agreement to Fehér Ablak Limited on Monday.
“Hungarian enterprises form the vast majority of the enterprises that have undertaken to realise investment projects; 622 out of the 806 companies that are receiving funding are Hungarian, which clearly indicates the significant strengthening of Hungarian-owned enterprises within the national economy”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said at Monday’s ceremony to present funding agreements within the framework of the competitiveness-increasing program.
