The EU must without delay set up a European force which is capable of protecting the borders of Greece, and further, the EU should finance refugee camps in some countries in the Middle-East, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade said on Thursday in Budapest.

“Hungary welcomes the fact that the German recommendations for handling the European refugee crisis include two that the Hungarian Government also regards as our number one priorities”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stressed in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI. Mr. Szijjártó was reacting to a four-point proposal by Sigmar Gabriel, which the German Vice Chancellor presented in the interests of effectively handling migration pressure on the European Union.
Hungary and the United Arab Emirates signed an agreement on economic cooperation in Budapest on Tuesday. At a press conference following the signing of the agreement, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said “Trade relations between the two countries must be placed on new, broader foundations”.

Claims by Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta with regard to the migration issue are “a total lie“ and are unworthy of a 21st century political leader, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stressed in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Tuesday.
“The Cabinet has come to a decision regarding preparations for the possible construction of a border security fence along the Hungarian-Romanian border ‘up to a rational distance’ from the Hungarian-Serbian-Romanian triple border”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on Tuesday in Budapest.
