“Croatia is the only country from among Hungary’s seven neighbours with relation to which we are able to keep all border crossing points open to commuters, and we are also preparing to open new crossing points in future”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on Friday at the Letenye-Muracsány (Gorican) border crossing point following a meeting with his Croatian counterpart.
“The old Hegyeshalom border crossing point will be reopening”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on his Facebook page.
“Another healthcare shipment has arrived via the China-Hungary airlift, this time from the city of Tianjin”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on his Facebook page on Saturday.
“More equipment required to protect against the coronavirus epidemic arrived in Hungary aboard four aeroplanes on Friday via the airlift operating between China and Hungary”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to public media on Friday.
“Three aeroplanes and two heavy goods vehicles arrived in Hungary on Thursday bearing protective equipment. including one and a half million face masks, one million test kits, seventy respirators and hundred of parts required for their operation”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.
“Once the epidemic is over, the successful rebooting of the economy will also depend on new investments”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared at a press conference in Budapest on Thursday.
The border crossing points at Röszke, Tompa and Hercegszántó were opened to people living along the Hungarian-Serbian border on Thursday, thereby helping to ensure that commuters do not suffer too great a level of economic damage because of the consequences of the novel coronavirus epidemic.
“The countries of the Visegrád Group (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia; the V4) are providing 35 million euros in funding to Libya, with which they are not only contributing to border protection, but also to the fight against the coronavirus epidemic”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said at an online press conference on Wednesday.
“From 6 o’clock this morning, Hungarian and Serbian citizens who work or cultivate land on the other side of the border will be able to cross the border via the Röszke, Tompa and Hercegszántó border crossing points”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on his Facebook page on Thursday.
During a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó thanked his Estonian counterpart, whom he called a true friend and a good ally, for standing up for Hungary.
