“All European Union member states are facing similar challenges with relation to the pandemic caused by the new strain of the coronavirus, and we must prepare for long-term protective measures”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared at a press conference on Monday in Budapest following the first ever meeting of EU foreign ministers held in video conference form.
“Serbia and Hungary are coordinating efforts to protect against the coronavirus”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a video published on Sunday following a meeting with Serbian Finance Minister Siniša Mali.
“We stand in solidarity with our Croatian friends”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a Facebook post on Sunday in reaction to the Croatian earthquake.
According to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, the coronavirus epidemic is truly showing us to what extent the countries of the region are dependent on each other. The Minister spoke about this on Friday in Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár) at the headquarters of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (RMDSZ), at a joint press conference with RMDSZ President Hunor Kelemen.
“From Friday morning, Hungarian and Slovakian citizens are now able to cross the bridge connecting the two Komároms within the framework of local border traffic”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.
“The Slovakian and Hungarian authorities have reopened the Komárom border crossing station for citizens of the two countries, meaning people living in the region will no longer have to make a detour of some one hundred kilometres”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced in a Facebook post on Friday morning.
