“Protecting Christian culture is important to both Hungary and Russia”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó highlighted on Kossuth Radio’s “Sunday Paper” show.
“The Hungarian government rejects all general criticism with relation to the state of the rule of law, but is always prepared to provide responses to our partners with relation to concrete issues”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared on Thursday in the Hague following a meeting with his Dutch counterpart Stef Blok.

“Bilateral relations between Hungary and Russia are in order; there are no open issues”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s State Secretary for Information and the International Representation of Hungary Tamás Menczer said on Hungarian M1 current affairs television on Thrusday in assessment of Wednesday’s meeting between the Hungarian Prime Minister and the Russian President.
“The NATO member states and Ukraine adopted the Hungarian proposal with relation to the NATO -Ukraine joint statement at the very last moment, after the expiry of the official deadline. This means that our stand in support of Transcarpathian Hungarians has achieved results”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.
“Never before has Hungary’s gas supply been on such a secure footing; Hungary’s gas storage facilities are full for the first time in history”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said following a meeting with CEO of Gazprom Alexei Miller.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó called close cooperation between East and West, and Hungary’s role as a bridge, a Hungarian interest at the Eurasia Forum in Budapest on Wednesday.
“The acceptance of the technical plan in early October was a milestone with relation to the Paks Nuclear Power Plant project, and the most important next task from the perspective of construction is the preparation of the establishment licence application and its submission to the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority by 30 June of next year”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said at a meeting with Director General of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev in Budapest on Wednesday.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó held talks with Russian Minister of Trade and Industry Denis Manturov, who is in Hungary as part of the delegation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday.
“Hungary has vetoed the joint statement on Ukraine by NATO ambassadors”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced at the Eurasia Forum in Budapest on Wednesday. “Hungary refuses to sacrifice the Transcarpathian Hungarian community on the altar of geopolitics”, the Minister said.
