Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó officially inaugurated a new laminated glass production facility at American-owned Guardian Glass’s plant in Orosháza.
“It is in Europe’s clear interests to relaunch the idea of a Eurasian free trade area, and that would also serve Hungary’s national economic interests”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared in Bratislava on Monday.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó has asked for Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Meleşcanu to intervene in the case of the military cemetery in Valea Uzului (Úzvölgy), the Ministry said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday. Mr. Szijjártó held talks with his Romanian counterpart with relation to the construction work being performed at the Hungarian military cemetery on the sidelines of a meeting of Eastern Partnership foreign ministers in Bratislava.
The U.S. President and the Hungarian Government represent a similarly strong anti-immigration position, and Hungary is protecting its own borders just like the United States is doing.
“Without the upholding of the agreement between the EU and Turkey on stopping migration, we would have to deal with significant migration pressure from the south, and accordingly Europe’s security currently begins in Turkey”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said following a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Budapest on Friday.
“Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s working visit to Washington on 13 May, during which he will be received by U.S. President Donald Trump, will be extremely significant”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said at a press conference in Brussels on Thursday.

“Hungary would gladly diversify its energy sources, but the prerequisites for this are the construction of the necessary infrastructure and the making of the required investment decisions, and these, however, depend on our international partners”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared on Thursday at the 1st B2B energy forum held within the framework of the session of the European Union-United States Energy Council in Brussels.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade regards the letter sent to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó by one of the United Nations’ commissioners responsible for human rights, Fionnuala Ni Aoláin, according to which Ahmed H’s rights have been violated in Hungary, as outrageous and absurd.
“In addition to Brussels, the United Nations is also promoting migration, and the UN is now also encouraging terrorism, since it has become a defence attorney for terrorists, with which it is practicing extremely dangerous politics”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared in Bratislava on Tuesday at a press conference following a meeting of foreign ministers of the Visegrád Group countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia; the V4), and Turkey.
