Bence Rétvári, State Minister for Parliament at the Ministry of Human Resources, has told national news agency MTI that the cause of a fight between young migrants at the Fót children’s home is as yet unknown.

The case was first reported on national television M1 on Friday by György Bakondi, Security Advisor to the Prime Minister. Mr. Bakondi said that some twenty migrants of Afghan and Pakistani origin took part in the fight at the Fót children’s home, and that the conflict broke out at dawn between migrants already resident in the home and new arrivals.

The fight was over by the time police arrived on the scene. Three of the migrants were taken to hospital with minor head wounds. Police found the several objects the youths could use as weapons, such as a shard of slate.

Unaccompanied minors are being accommodated at the Fót children’s home, where dietary needs are catered for and translators are available. Numbers at the home constantly fluctuate. After the fight the children’s home has implemented new security measures, and in future youngsters will be accommodated in separate rooms according to religious belief.
