A dentistry centre for the disabled was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Semmelweis University Oro-Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry Clinic in Budapest.
Minister of State for Health Gábor Zombor said at the inauguration that there are now a total six such specially equipped centres around the country, where operations can also be performed under general anaesthetic and which offer a wide range of restorative dental treatments. These centres, which are specially designed to also enable the treatment of mentally disabled and autistic people, are run at an annual cost of 300 million forints (EUR 970,000).
Mr. Zombor said the state is committed to providing suitable medical facilities for the disabled and to assuring their financing.
