“Hungary greatly appreciates Ambassador Cornstein’s commitment to reinforcing Hungarian-American relations”, Minister of Human Capacities Prof. Dr. Miklós Kásler said at his meeting with the United States Ambassador to Hungary on Thursday.

David B. Cornstein highlighted the fact that relations between the two countries have been spectacularly revitalised recently and expressed his satisfaction that relation-building will be continuing at the highest possible level in the near future.

At the meeting, the Minister of Human Capacities and the U.S. Ambassador reviewed the healthcare cooperation between the two countries and the inherent opportunities, with particular emphasis on the field of the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Kásler presented a short briefing on Hungary’s healthy living programme, which is aimed at the conscious prevention of illnesses.

The Minister pointed out that Hungary remains prepared to play an active role in funding the Fulbright Foundation. The U.S. Ambassador welcomed Hungary’s contribution, indicating that the programme is highly important to both countries.

The parties agreed to search for new opportunities for cooperation, amongst others in various fields related to sport.
