There may be several ways for the CEU (Central European University) to operate in Hungary in a form other than its present one, in compliance with the relevant regulations, the State Secretary for Education of the Ministry of Human Capacities said on the programme 180 minutes of Kossuth Rádió on Thursday.

According to László Palkovics’s explanation, one possible option is licence training which means that a foreign institution grants a university accredited in Hungary a training licence, and based on this, the students of the foreign institution are trained by a Hungarian higher education institution.

The State Secretary further pointed out that the Andrássy Gyula German Speaking University does not operate the way the CEU does, but the way the Hungarian Közép-európai Egyetem operates: they are both private universities registered in Hungary which are operated by foundations.
