Kakha Kakhishvili, Georgia’s Minister of Corrections and Probation is on a three-day official visit to Hungary between 8 and 10 August.
The Georgian delegation held talks with Hungarian Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér and leaders of the Hungarian law enforcement organisation. Mr. Kakshvili visited two prisons in Budapest and in Pálhalma, respectively, and he also inspected the manufacturing activities at one of the companies of law enforcement.
The focus of bilateral meetings was on the parties’ practical experience in the field of employing, training and educating convicted persons and on the risk assessment and risk management system of detention facilities.
High on the discussions’ agenda were also the management of detention facilities, their efforts towards self-sufficiency and the role that products manufactured by inmates play in internal supply.
Parties to the meeting declared that they are ready to further develop bilateral relations between Hungary and Georgia with efforts made towards expanding expert level discussions and exchange of experience.
