The Hungarian government believes in genuine work, and also during the state of danger they are taking action continuously to protect families, children and women, Justice Minister Judit Varga told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.

The Minister said the almost 170-page working document – which the Justice Ministry will send on Friday for reviewing to the more than 60 non-governmental organisations which were invited to the February founding meeting of the family law non-governmental task force – is now complete.

The document contains recommendations from family law experts and non-governmental organisations, including in connection with a child protection alert system, domestic violence, legal options for action to counter violence against children, and procedures related to child visitation regulations and practices, Ms. Varga listed.

A great many non-governmental organisations shared their experiences in response to the Ministry’s request, and subject to the development of the epidemic situation, the working document could also be discussed as part of a meeting of the family law non-governmental task force, she added.

The Justice Minister also highlighted that the Ministry will present to the government the findings of the completed document as well as its proposals relating to a reform in the application of laws and legislative amendments.
