Regional consultations deserve special attention in European Union work, Justice Minister László Trócsányi said on 19 December 2014 after meeting counterparts from the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, Serbia and Austria, as well as President of Austria, Dr. Heinz Fischer.

This was the first regional meeting of justice ministers. At the event, László Trócsányi said that such consultations should be organized on a regular basis. Regional ties are vitally important from an economic, as well as a security point of view, he added. The minister invited his colleagues to hold the consultation in Budapest next year.

Minister Trócsányi along with his counterparts paid a courtesy visit  to Austrian President Heinz Fischer. They focussed on new challenges facing justice administration and ways to increase the efficiency of combating crime.
