Krisztián Kecsmár, the Ministry of Justice’s State Secretary for Cooperation in European and International Justice Affairs opened the 43th SOLVIT workshop on 5 October 2017, which was hosted in Budapest.
SOLVIT is an informal problem solving network, which can help, when a national authority has failed to apply EU law governing the internal market correctly.
The network has been operating since 15 years, and Hungary joined it in 2004 when it became an EU Member State.
Mr. Kecsmár underlined the significance of SOLVIT among the existing internal market tools. SOLVIT is a successful example of administrative cooperation and it is recognised that SOLVIT contributes to a correct application of EU law, solving thousands of problems for EU citizens and businesses.
The State Secretary emphasized that SOLVIT Hungary has had to cope with the highest case load and also thanked for the work of all SOLVIT centres, since the key of successful operation is great cooperation of the SOLVIT centres.
Laurence de Richemont, the Head of Unit in charge of the Single Market Service Centre, the Commission’s SOLVIT Team and representatives of all SOLVIT centres were present at the workshop.
