As many as 266 individuals in compulsory home quarantine have already agreed that compliance with the applicable restrictive measure should be checked by the police electronically, a staff member of the duty centre of the Operational Group responsible for the containment of the coronavirus epidemic said at an online press conference held on Saturday.
Lt. Colonel Róbert Kiss said those in compulsory home quarantine can enable the police to monitor their movements electronically by downloading an application. He highlighted that on Friday 779 compulsory home quarantine orders had been issued, resulting in 10,927 such restrictive orders in effect. On Friday, the police took action in 32 instances due to the violation of the rules related to compulsory home quarantine.
On Friday, the police took action in 117 instances checking compliance with safe distancing and the wearing of face masks, including 66 cautions, 18 onsite fines and 33 prosecutions. Since Monday, the police have taken action in 301 instances due to the violation of personal protection measures, the Lt. Colonel added.
The police were required to take action in 508 instances on Friday due to the violation of the restrictions on movement, including 338 cautions, 98 onsite fines and 72 prosecutions.
Mr Kiss also said on Saturday morning major delays of up to 4 hours should be expected in cargo traffic on the exit side at Csanádpalota as well as in passenger traffic on the exit side at Nagylak.
In answer to a question, he repeated that since Thursday agricultural workers have been allowed to enter Hungary at Záhony and Nagylak. A condition of the entry of guest workers is that the employer should notify the border crossing station intended to be used 48 hours in advance, stating the worker’s details, the place and duration of employment, and the address of temporary residence.
According to his information, so far the entry into Hungary of 31 agricultural workers has been requested.
Kristóf Gál, a staff member of the National Police Constabulary said the number of samples taken had risen to 103,258. The relevant data has been updated, and it now also includes the number of samples taken by medical universities for research purposes.
