According to György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, border security is an important element of internal security and sense of security.

On Wednesday evening, Mr. Bakondi told Hungarian television channel M1 that border security can only be effective if security checks are carried out and the identity and purpose of those seeking to enter the country are known.

In answer to a question, he said that should someone wish to return to the IS terrorist organisation through the Hungarian border and the authorities are aware of that, there is a fair chance that such individuals will be stopped at the crossing points. At the southern green border, it is the border security fence that would stop them, Mr. Bakondi added.
