György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, has told Hungarian public television channel M1 that certain member states seem to interpret external border protection differently.

He said that although in theory politicians across the EU tend to think of external border protection in similar terms, when it comes to determining practical measures there are huge differences.

Mr. Bakondi also said that the internal security situation in Germany has deteriorated, and more and more German citizens want to change the current system. Despite this, further migrant groups will set off towards the country until it sets an upper limit on migration numbers or introduces stricter rules.

He added that although migration from Turkey has decreased, it cannot be determined whether this has been the result of the EU-Turkey deal or the shift witnessed in migration patterns.
