The traditions and culture of the masses coming with illegal immigrants are completely different from those of Europe, György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister said on Sunday on the public service television news channel M1.
He highlighted that, in accordance with the population’s political will, a number of European nation states have changed their positions since 2015, and there are ever fewer of those who believe that unlimited, mass, illegal migration is a good thing.
Mr Bakondi pointed out that the requirement of protecting the Schengen borders is laid down in European legal rules, and these must be observed because otherwise there will be serious consequences.
The protection of the Schengen borders is a European obligation. In 2015 a great many European countries dispensed with the enforcement of these rules, and let in masses of people from Africa and Asia without controls of any kind due to human rights considerations, he added.
Mr Bakondi stressed that the Schengen Agreement is an extremely important achievement of the European Union equally from a social, economic and political point of view. It permits the free movement of people and goods, and therefore we must do everything we can to keep the Schengen Agreement alive.
The chief security advisor took the view that if mass illegal immigration continues, the defence efforts of nation states will strengthen, and it is to be hoped that after the European parliamentary elections due to take place next spring a different kind of European Parliament and a different kind of European Commission will be formed. As a result, the migration policy pursued so far will change considerably, and it will be possible to save Europe’s culture, past, present and future.
