“Foreign officers serving in Hungary within the framework of the European Union’s border guard agency Frontex also found no fault with the work of police officers and military personnel on duty at the border”, György Bakondi said on Hungarian M1 television’s Tuesday evening current affairs program.
“Foreign officers write regular reports on their time here and these documents have never once mentioned that Hungarian police officers or military personal show any form of aggression at all towards refugees”, the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister said.
Mr. Bakondi pointed out that if during an interview an illegal immigrant suggests that he or she has been mistreated, then the case is automatically forwarded to the prosecution service. “A total of eight cases of this kind have been investigated so far, but in neither case was it proven that the refugees had been harmed by border personnel”, the Chief Advisor said.
