On Tuesday, further individual protective supplies and ventilators arrived at Liszt Ferenc International Airport delivered by four cargo flights, a staff member of the duty centre of the Operational Group responsible for the containment of the coronavirus epidemic said at an online press conference held on Wednesday.

Lt. Colonel Róbert Kiss said three flights had brought to Budapest 31.5 tonnes of individual protective supplies, while another plane had brought ventilators and further protective supplies.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, 2,035,000 pairs of gloves and 2,400,000 face masks arrived, delivered by 1 lorry and 1 plane.

Mr Kiss said on Tuesday more than 21,000 litres of hand sanitiser and surface disinfectant gel arrived in the country. These will be delivered to 20 designated hospitals on Wednesday.

The number of persons in compulsory home quarantine has further decreased to 11,049, he said, adding that on Tuesday at various border crossing stations 702 persons were ordered into compulsory home quarantine. Also on Tuesday, the police were required to take action against persons in compulsory home quarantine due to 14 breaches. He recalled that they had checked quarantined persons since 12 March; so far, procedures have been instituted due to 1,181 infringements.

On Tuesday throughout the country, the police took action in 1,113 instances against persons violating the restrictions on movement, including 424 cautions, 352 onsite fines and 337 prosecutions. The police have checked compliance with the restrictions on movement since 28 March; in this context, they have taken action in 28,610 cases.

Due to crimes related to the epidemic, 265 criminal procedures have been instituted, including 68 due to scaremongering, 26 due to the threat of public danger, 78 due to fraud and 15 due to the violation of disease control regulations. So far, the police have questioned 49 persons in total.

Regarding border traffic, he said some delays should be expected in cargo traffic on the entry side at Röszke and Hegyeshalom.
