On Thursday, further protective supplies will be delivered to 29 hospitals and to the National Ambulance Service, a staff member of the duty centre of the Operational Group responsible for the containment of the coronavirus epidemic said at an online press conference held on Thursday.
Police Lt. Colonel Róbert Kiss added that the Operational Group will help elderly care homes with further protective supplies which will be delivered to them through the government offices.
He highlighted that two mobile telephone applications had been developed which could be useful in the fight against the epidemic. One of them is the home quarantine application which serves the electronic monitoring of compliance with compulsory home quarantine orders. So far this application has been downloaded by 585 persons and is currently being used by 528 individuals.
The “virus radar” application is designed to facilitate contact tracing which – if used by persons in sufficiently large numbers – can help to determine the identities of persons who were in close contact with confirmed coronavirus patients within a distance of less than two metres for minimum twenty minutes, Mr Kiss added.
He also said on Wednesday 641 compulsory home quarantine orders had been issued, resulting in 11,084 such restrictive orders in effect at present. On Wednesday, the police were required to take action in 14 instances against persons violating the rules of compulsory home quarantine.
On Wednesday in Budapest and Pest County, the police were required to take action in 335 instances due to the violation of the rules related to the restrictions on movement, including 172 cautions, 96 onsite fines and 67 prosecutions. Since 28 March, the police have taken action on such grounds in 49,898 instances throughout the territory of the country.
On Wednesday, checking compliance with the protective measures implemented in the countryside, the police were required to take action in 66 instances, including 35 cautions, 9 onsite fines and 22 prosecutions. Since 4 March, the police have taken action on such grounds in 739 instances.
Regarding border traffic, he said in cargo traffic on the entry side there is a two-hour delay at Tompa, a three-hour delay at Röszke and a one-hour delay at Csanádpalota, while on the exit side lorry drivers should expect delays of up to three hours at Csanádpalota and delays of up to two hours at Ártánd. In passenger traffic, there is a two-hour delay on the entry side at Nagylak.
