The government will analyse the status of the pandemic also at its Wednesday meeting, a staff member of the duty centre of the Operational Group responsible for the containment of the coronavirus epidemic said at an online press conference held on Wednesday.
Police Lt. Colonel Róbert Kiss added that they would provide detailed information about the decisions adopted on Thursday.
So far 418 criminal procedures have been instituted in connection with the epidemic, including 120 due to scaremongering, 128 due to fraud, 29 due to the threat of public endangerment and 21 due to the violation of disease control regulations. In these procedures, 80 suspects have been questioned in total, he said.
According to his information, in the past 24 hours, 770 compulsory home quarantine orders have been issued, resulting in 11,172 such restrictive orders in effect in total at present around the country.
He said the number of persons agreeing to the electronic monitoring of compliance with the restrictive measures related to compulsory home quarantine has risen to 2,063. The number of active users of the application currently stands at 880, he said.
Regarding border traffic, he said in cargo traffic on the entry side there are two-hour waits at Tompa, Röszke and Csanádpalota and one-hour waits at Ártánd and Csengersima. In bus traffic on the exit side there is a one-hour delay at Röszke. In passenger traffic on the exit side there is a one-hour delay at Hegyeshalom.
In answer to the question as to what Hungarians who tend to spend their summer holidays by the sea in Croatia should expect, the Lt. Colonel said from 28 May Croatia has opened its borders to the nationals of eight countries, including Hungary. Observing the recommendations of the Croatian public health institute, Hungarians are allowed to freely enter the territory of Croatia. At the same time, the relevant government decree is still in effect, meaning that if a person travels home to Hungary in passenger traffic from Croatia, they are required to retire to compulsory home quarantine.
