On Thursday, György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister told public broadcaster Kossuth Rádió that the introduction of the in-depth border protection has resulted in high-level efficiency and effectiveness.
Mr. Bakondi pointed out that the system was introduced on 5 July. Its essence is that migrants who are found not to have committed a crime will be accompanied back to the nearest gate in the border fence and will be directed to the nearest transit zone.
The Chief Security Advisor stressed that there is continuous “backup” in illegal migrants: millions of people could set off only from Black Africa.
He also said that the migrants’ actions are not spontaneous ones: they are being organised by civilians. A few weeks ago, people, who had earlier on been working on addressing media by supporting migrants in Idomeni also appeared in Belgrade.
Mr. Bakondi said that according to his sources, these actions are partly being organised by anarchist groups, such as for example No Border, whose name already indicates that its philosophy is that borders should be erased.
Hungary stands on the grounds of legality in handling illegal migration: it only receives those returned migrants, who had first entered the territory of the European Union in Hungary; other migrants will not be received, Mr. Bakondi underlined.
