According to the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, Hungary saw the downsides of migration sooner than western countries.

On the Tuesday evening programme of the public service television channel M1 György Bakondi said in this context that in the past few days at the border they have apprehended two refugees who sought to escape out of the country because they are wanted due to the commission of crimes. He added that they will extradite both men, an Iraqi and an Afghan, to the French and Greek authorities proceeding in their respective cases.

The chief security advisor said Hungary did not accept the argument that migration is a positive phenomenon and is beneficial for society. The cases of these criminals also demonstrate that Hungary saw the downsides of migration sooner. In his view, these also include acts of terrorism and the deterioration of the security and public health care situation. He added that these processes now also have political impacts.
