“Hungary will not submit to any kind of political pressure or attack, but is a partner in legal procedures”, the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister said on M1 Hungarian television’s Saturday evening current affairs program.

According to György Bakondi, this means that the Hungarian Government is open to debating issues of a legal nature raised by the European Union. One element of this could be that migrants aged between 14 and 18 may be allowed into the country if they agree to be examined using modern age determination methods.

In reply to a question, Mr. Bakondi said that although these days it is rare, but in 2015 migrants often claimed to be younger than they actually were.

“The organisations that are moving the masses of migrants very often teach them the ropes, including the fact that minors can count on being assessed more favourably than people aged over 18”, he added. As he explained, medical methods can be used to determine a person’s true age.

Following a session of the European People’s Party in Brussels on Saturday, Minister heading the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister Antal Rogán spoke bout the fact that Hungary is showing willingness to allow entry to migrants aged 14-18, but only following DNA testing that can definitively prove whether they are indeed members of the given age group.
