During the pandemic, we learnt that if there is the political will in individual nation states to close down the borders, illegal mass migration can be stopped, the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister said on the public service television news channel M1 on Friday evening.
György Bakondi added that if, however, restrictions are lifted, migrants will set out immediately.
There are different forces which have a vested interest in restricting nation states in their containment efforts, thereby achieving the opening of the borders and the mass influx of migrants into Europe, he said.
Mr Bakondi observed that liberal statements urging the implementation of migrant quotas – the mandatory distribution of migrants among states – are becoming ever louder again, and it is therefore important that several countries have recently pointed out that this is unacceptable for them.
