Five Algerian and two Moroccan men escaped from the Kiskunhalas guarded reception centre on Tuesday evening. Three of them were apprehended, and the authorities already know the whereabouts of another two, György Bakondi said.

As he described the incident, an Algerian immigrant was apprehended in an escape attempt in the evening, and it transpired during the roll call thereafter that several young men had left the camp.

The Prime Minister’s chief advisor for internal security also reported at his Wednesday press conference that an Iraqi migrant cut his body in several places during the late evening hours. According to the chief advisor’s information, the authorities are making intensive efforts to find the escaped migrants, all of whom were detained in the closed facility because they committed violent, prohibited border crossing attempts.
