“Migration is a negative process that must be prevented”, the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister declared on Hungarian M1 television’s Wednesday evening current affairs program.

György Bakondi referred to the statements made by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó at his press conference on Wednesday, according to which if there is no positive shift then Hungary will be exiting the series of negotiations on the United Nations Organisation’s migration package.

“Hungary refuses to take part in the drawing up of a document that is at odds with its consistent immigration policy”, the Chief Security Advisor stressed.

“The external borders must be protected, and assistance must be taken to where the problem arises, instead of bringing the problem into Europe”, he stated, explaining that the Hungarian standpoint is determined by the will of the Hungarian people and the opinions of the millions of citizens who took part in the National Consultations.

Mr. Bakondi also said that Romania is securely protecting its borders, and accordingly there is currently no need to review or reinforce border security measures.
