“Migration will be the main subject of the upcoming EU summit and next year’s European Parliament elections”, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister György Bakondi highlighted on Hungarian M1 television’s Friday evening current affairs program.
“When Hungary was applying for membership of the European Union, from the outside it seemed that there are no disputes within the EU, that there is a full correspondence of interests and true cooperation. But since the beginning of the migration crisis in 2015 the EU has changed, ‘Soros’s people’ have appeared in large numbers in the European Parliament and the European Commission, and the EC is undertaking an increasingly political role”, Mr. Bakondi said.
According to the Chief Security Advisor, migration has become a determining issue. Answers must be provided, amongst others, to the question of whether the EU wants to protect its borders to prevent illegal border crossing and the abuse of the asylum system.
Mr. Bakondi also mentioned that many on the left-wing liberal side have claimed that migration has come to an end, while in fact not only have Hungary and its fellow Visegrád Group (V4) states (the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia) expressed their concern with relation to increased migrant activity along the Bosnia-Hercegovina/Montenegro/Albania/Croatia/Slovenia/Italy migration route, but so have Austria, Germany and the European Union’s border protection agency, Frontex.
