“Europe’s Nation States have begun to defend themselves against illegal immigration”, the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister said on M1 Hungarian television’s Friday evening current affairs program.

György Bakondi said that various countries had reinstated border controls or reinforced their secret services.

“More and more countries are recognising the dangers of uncontrolled, mass migration, and fewer and fewer are seeing something positive in the process”, he stressed.

According to the Chief Security Advisor, illegal immigration is having serious consequences for, amongst others, the healthcare system and the economy.

“Hungary is doing its homework”: it has constructed a fence on the border and is reinforcing it, Mr. Bakondi said.
