The organisers of the political demonstration exposed themselves as fewer than a bus full of people arrived from Gyöngyöspata to attend the demonstration advertised under the title “For a free Gyöngyöspata”. This means that 98 per cent of the people of Gyöngyöspata said no to this political campaign, László Horváth, the Prime Minister’s appointee and Member of Parliament for the constituency stated in a video message posted on the government’s Facebook account on Sunday.
Mr Horváth stressed that it had become clear that “the organisations funded by George Soros” did not want peaceful co-existence between Hungarians and the Roma, and did not want fair, good and just answers to the existing problems. Their “recipe”, he highlighted, is to first consciously generate a conflict, and to then invite the Roma “to engage in battle” against the majority society.
“This is unfair and unacceptable,” the Prime Minister’s appointee stated.
He added that what is important for them is that in recent years, for the majority of Roma, a benefit-based life has been replaced with a workfare and knowledge-based life. We will not allow anyone to destroy this joint result that was so hard to achieve for their own political gains, Mr Horváth pointed out.
