The activity of people smugglers has increased significantly; so far this year, 40 per cent more migrants have attempted to enter the country at the Southern border section than during last year’s corresponding period, the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister said on Thursday morning on the public service television news channel M1.

György Bakondi said migrants are appearing at the Hungarian-Serbian and Hungarian-Romanian border sections in ever larger groups.

According to the chief advisor, the European Union’s migration policy currently in the making, the practice of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the active demands of those forming part of the liberal party family to open the borders are making the situation especially grave.

These circumstances are making Hungary a target of attacks, he added.

Regarding the migration policy which is currently being drafted, the Hungarian government would like to achieve that the vote on it should relate to the entire package, not to each point individually.
