The political pressure exerted by pro-migration forces serves multiple purposes.
György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, said the goal of pro-migration forces is, on the one hand, to put pressure on the Italian government, and on the other, to induce European countries to take in migrants within the shortest possible time and to distribute the new arrivals on the basis of some kind of automatic mechanism.
In his view, the forces which have a vested interest in mass illegal immigration are not prepared to accept the fact that, in response to the Italian measures, the number of migrants arriving in Europe by sea has fallen drastically.
He stressed that it would be important to make clear decisions as soon as possible, and according to the Prime Minister’s chief security advisor, instead of the flawed migration policy of the past five years, a new approach should finally be adopted to illegal migration and to the European solutions associated with it.
