The Government would like Hungary to become a partner country and a guest of honour of the digital exhibition and fair CeBIT in the near future, and also for this reason, the Government is diverting its full attention to the event to begin next Monday in Hannover, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said.

By his account, the Government is treating not only this year’s event as a particular priority, but also any further similar exhibitions to be held in the future, and its Digital Success Programme is likewise a priority. There is intensive background work in order to enable the country to remain competitive in this segment, and to even reinforce its position, he said. Mr Kovács highlighted: it is important that Hungarian businesses and start-up enterprises should be given as many opportunities as possible, and remarked that the Hungarian National Trading House, too, will provide assistance for Hungarian businesses in this department.

According to the information of Tamás Deutsch, Commissioner for the Digital Success Programme appointed by the Prime Minister, CeBIT will be held between 20-24 March this year in Hannover where the Hungarian presence will be more coordinated than ever before. More than 200 thousand professional visitors are expected to attend the event, and more than 3,000 businesses from all over the world will showcase their innovations and services at the fair, including more than 500 start-up enterprises. CeBIT will be attended by 21 Hungarian businesses.

The purpose of the Hungarian participation is to direct investor attention to the businesses exhibiting and the state applications displayed at the stand as in previous years, representatives of the sector acquired orders and investments in the magnitude of millions of euros through the business contacts they established at the fair, he pointed out. On the other hand, they would like to boost Hungarian digital exports, while attendance at the event is also important from the respect of the reinforcement of Hungarian-German business relations, he added. He also remarked: they are working on Hungary achieving the title of guest of honour at the exhibition already in 2019.

Mr Deutsch said: the Government contributed HUF 340 million to the Hungarian pavilion and to the Hungarian presence at the event. Hungary will erect a bigger and more spectacular stand than ever before, of the ground space of some 400 square metres, at the fair, and will showcase the achievements of innovative Hungarian businesses. The priority governmental attention is also reflected in the diplomatic delegation that will join the Hungarian pavilion. Members of the delegation will include Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, László Palkovics, State Secretary for Education at the Ministry of Human Capacities, and István Lepsényi, State Secretary for the Development and Regulation of the Economy at the Ministry of National Economy, the Commissioner listed.

Ákos Deliága, Managing Director of the company Talk a Bot dealing with chatbots introduced the chatbot robot made by his company which will inform visitors of the programmes in general and of the programmes of the Hungarian stand in messages throughout the exhibition. Some half a million Hungarians have used the applications developed for their customers so far, he said, and added that the exhibition will present a good opportunity for accelerating their wider international market penetration.
