The restrictions on movement have taken effect, a staff member of the duty centre of the Operational Group responsible for the containment of the coronavirus infection announced at an online press conference held on Saturday.
Lt. Colonel Róbert Kiss said the police will draw the attention of members of the public to the new regulations in a helpful, empathetic and loyal manner, and at the same time he thanked members of the public for their cooperation.
The Lt. Colonel said from Monday hospital commanders will be assigned to hospitals to take care of disciplined supplies management implemented military style.
He also highlighted that health care procurements were ongoing: on Saturday, 27 tonnes of individual protective supplies arrived, and according to plans, on Sunday 3,270,000 individual protective supplies, face masks and gloves will arrive in the country on two flights.
He informed the press that the police had apprehended the person who had attacked a paramedic recently. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that paramedics perform a public duty saving lives, and therefore also in the future the police will deal with similar crimes as a priority.
He observed that the Iranian nationals who had assaulted workers of the South Pest Central Hospital had already been expelled from the country, while on Friday another two persons had been expelled.
He added that so far the National Directorate General for Aliens Policing had instituted aliens policing procedures against 15 persons.
Mr Kiss also highlighted that the police had checked the 7,302 persons subjected to compulsory home quarantine on 44,375 occasions; in consequence, they have prosecuted 163 persons and imposed 37 onsite fines.
He said the delays observed at the borders during the night have since been resolved; there are no major delays expected at any border crossing point.
