In the last four days, the police have taken action in 263 instances in total on the basis of the government decree that entered into force on Monday due to the coronavirus epidemic, the deputy head of the duty centre of the Operational Group responsible for the fight against the pandemic said at an online press conference held on Friday.

Lt. Colonel Róbert Kiss said on Thursday the police took action due to the violation of protective measures in 133 instances, in several cases due to the disruption of public services.

He said 28 persons travelling on public transport did not or did not appropriately wear face masks, while 105 persons failed to comply with the rules relating to the wearing of face masks in shops, catering establishments or on the premises of other institutions.

Since the entry into force of the new government decree on Monday, the police have taken action in 263 instances, including 221 cautions, 23 onsite fines and 19 prosecutions, the Lt. Colonel said.

On Thursday, 2,711 persons were ordered to retire to compulsory home quarantine, including 569 upon crossing the border. At present, 25,374 persons are in quarantine. The police checked compliance with the rules in 12,785 instances; 1,687 persons are using the mobile telephone quarantine application.

The body temperatures of all spectators arriving at the Super Cup match were checked at the Puskás Arena, the deputy head of the duty centre of the Operational Group responsible for the fight against the coronavirus epidemic said at an online press conference on Friday, refuting Internet news reports to the contrary.

Lt. Colonel Kiss highlighted that the Hungarian police secured the event in accordance with the expectations of UEFA. He said 14,032 persons attended the match, and in the interest of protecting people’s health and preventing the spread of mass virus infections, stringent disease control regulations were introduced at the Puskás Arena.

Those arriving from abroad were required to undergo health screening upon crossing the border and to present negative PCR test results from tests performed no more than three days previously.

He said the National Ambulance Service erected four disease control tents at the entry gates; the body temperatures of spectators were checked with the aid of an installed thermal imaging gate.

He added that the body temperature checking gates detected elevated body temperatures in the case of 16 visitors; however, the second test carried out 15 minutes later did not indicate elevated body temperatures in the case of any of them.
