Due to the pressure of migration, the situation in the Balkans poses a major security threat, the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister said on the public service television news channel M1.
György Bakondi said migrants are coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina from two directions, from Albania and Montenegro, and from the direction of Serbia. In some areas, such as in the Bihac district situated some 70 kilometres from the Hungarian border, migration is more intensive. It clearly indicates how untenable the situation is in those parts that reports are no longer confined to local accounts. The Bosnian defence minister pointed out that migrants are attempting to enter the country in masses illegally, in an uncontrolled manner.
The chief security advisor highlighted that the Hungarian government is closely monitoring the threat posed to the Hungarian border.
Mr Bakondi also said that George Soros, “a well-known advocate of migration, immigration and open societies,” has joined the EP election campaign with a recently published article. In the article not only does he openly support Frans Timmermans, the lead candidate of the socialists, First Vice-President of the European Commission, but also launches an attack on countries such as Hungary which see national interests as their top priority.
