Sixty-nine illegal border crossers were apprehended between Friday and the Sunday on the country’s territory, the National Police Headquarters informed Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday.

According to the statistics, which are available on the police website, 15, 16 and 28 illegal immigrants were apprehended within on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively, and accompanied back across the temporary border fence by police and military personnel patrolling the Serbian-Hungarian border. Ten illegal migrants were apprehended over the weekend from beyond the 8 kilometre border zone and other stretches of the border.

During the past week a total of 185 migrants have been apprehended and accompanied back to the border by security staff, while during the previous week of 20-26 March, this number bas 303. Twelve illegal migrants were apprehended from beyond the 8 kilometre border zone and other stretches of the border, the police summary states.
