The Government is expecting the activity of the liberal forces, which has manifested itself in street protests and media attacks, to continue in the upcoming months, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister György Bakondi explained on Hungarian M1 television’s Tuesday evening current affairs program.
“The stakes of May’s European Parliament elections are high: It will be decided whether the current make-up of the Parliament will remain, or those who are against immigration will gain the majority. This will also affect the make-up of the European Commission”, Mr. Bakondi highlighted.
The Chief Security Advisor said the Government is doing everything possible during the course of the campaign: “In both Hungary and Europe, we are explaining what is happening in Europe and the dangers posed if the current politics continues”, he stated.
Mr. Bakondi drew attention to the fact that the European leadership is doing its utmost to establish an irreversible situation prior to the elections. “Examples of this include the quota and the migrant visa. Their goal is to legalise illegal migration so that they can increase the number of migrants arriving in Europe more easily and to the greatest possible extent”, the Chief Security Advisor said.
