According to the Prime Minister’s Chief Security Advisor, the so-called migrant card programme, which raises serious concerns politically, legally, and from a security perspective, is bleeding from a myriad of wounds.

Speaking on Hungarian M1 television’s Friday evening current affairs program, György Bakondi spoke about the fact that the programme is successful from the point of view of those who want to support the influx of migrants.

“However, a man suspected of terrorism also had such a debit card, in addition to which it is also untrue that these cards can only be used in Greece and may only be received by political refugees”, he said.

Mr. Bakondi said the debit cards are an instrument that serve the legalisation of migration, and this is not the first time that the EU has not kept to its own regulations.

“Important questions include where the money is coming from, who decided on the fact that European taxpayers’ money can be used for this purpose, and through what public procurement procedure the issuer of the cards was decided upon?”, he pointed out.

The Chief Security Advisor repeated the Government’s position according to which the battle between the pro-immigration and anti-immigration forces is ongoing, and the voters will decide on the issue at the European Parliament elections in May.
