At the Operational Corps’ Friday press conference, János Szlávik, head physician of the South Pest Central Hospital – National Institute for Haematology and Infectious Diseases said one of the Iranian university students is showing mild symptoms, while the other one had a severe cough, but is fine now. His girlfriend, however, will remain in hospital for some time as expected.
On Thursday, the man hospitalised in Debrecen had symptoms indicating kidney failure, and therefore received infusion therapy. However, on Friday he, too, appeared to be recovering. He also said that a physician who had earlier treated one of the students presented herself in the hospital due to the fact that a few days ago she had developed a fever, but according to preliminary tests she has not been infected.
He said on Thursday the staff of a Budapest hotel informed the authorities that several of a group of 14 Japanese tourists and a teacher had complained of high body temperatures. They were taken to hospital, by the morning only one of them had a temperature, and in general they are well. Their test results are expected for this afternoon.
He stressed that many people had presented themselves at hospitals for coronavirus tests. However, such tests are not carried out on request.
