In Mórahalom on 23 August 2015, Minister of Defence Csaba Hende and Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér held a working meeting on issues related to the Temporary Border Security Fence and the associated technical system. The two ministers visited the construction works to be updated on current progress.
In the first part of the working meeting the Mayor of Mórahalom Zoltán Nógrádi reported on local matters, saying that local people agree with the aim and intentions of the work in progress, and that during the construction process the municipalities concerned and the local population are cooperating with the Hungarian Defence Forces and the Police. Mr. Nógrádi also told those present that the barrier system has already had an effect on illegal crossing of the border, and that increasingly aggressive behaviour and passive resistance from illegal migrants had been experienced.

In the second part of the working meeting Mr. Hende and Mr. Pintér received reports from commanders of the National Police Headquarters, the National Leadership of the Penitentiary Service, and the Hungarian Joint Defence Forces High Command. The reports, in addition to a detailed account of construction progress, covered the following areas:
• the implementation of tasks defined at the ministerial working meeting in Kelebia on 14 August 2015;
• the marking out of the line of the barrier;
• technical solutions employed;
• availability and delivery of construction materials and components;
• work performance, including public works;
• ground-levelling, structure and construction, piling.
Based on these reports, the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Interior concluded that construction activities have been progressing according to the schedule set earlier, and that there are no obstacles preventing the Hungarian border being sealed by a physical barrier system by 31 August 2015.
Mr. Pintér said that the designation of individuals with command autonomy has made a significant contribution to the efficient and economical use of all resources, equipment and capabilities.
Mr. Hende said that construction work teams formed from units of the Hungarian Defence Forces under the command of the Hungarian Joint Defence Forces High Command have been fulfilling their duties in extreme heat, keeping to the original time schedule despite periods of extreme rainfall which had caused soil to become waterlogged.
