Dr István Grezsa, Government Commissioner responsible for the governmental coordination of development projects in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County and Transcarpathia, and Árpád János Potápi, State Secretary for National Policy, received Governor Gennady Moskal, head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Office. The meeting was also attended by József Buhajla, Consul General of Hungary in Ungvár.
At the meeting the Government Commissioner informed the Governor of the status of the construction of the Verecke road and the Beregszász bypass road.
Mr Grezsa said: there is no obstacle to the construction of the Verecke road, and regarding the Beregszász bypass road, the Hungarian party is currently looking into its possible connection to the planned motorway junctions. During the course of the meeting the Government Commissioner welcomed the fact that Ukraine has a new Ambassador to Hungary in the person of Liubov Nepop, and Hungary looks forward to cooperating with him with great anticipation.
State Secretary Árpád János Potápi stressed that the existence of an independent and strong Ukraine is very important for the Hungarian State. He said that the Hungarian State has recently made a number of efforts to provide help for the population of the neighbouring country, and not only in the field of education, but also in the area of social life. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to Governor Moskal for the assistance and cooperation rendered to the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia.
The Transcarpathian Governor will also meet with Deputy State Secretary Zsolt Csutora from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade during the course of the day, and will have talks with Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén tomorrow.
