The year 2016 was an extremely successful year in terms of EU developments: a higher sum of grants was successfully paid to applicants than at any time before.

The system of development policy institutions did well beyond expectations in Hungary last year; according to the year-end December data, EU grants worth some HUF 1,962 billion were paid to applicants. This is thanks to the outstanding performance of the Managing Authorities responsible for the individual areas and the system of development policy institutions.

In 2016, disbursements were made in all nine development areas, and in the case of six (human resources development, economy development, environmental and energy development, public administration development, transport development and regional developments), Hungary performed in excess of 100% of the disbursement plans set for last year.
