Deputy State Secretary Dr. Ernő Schaller-Baross welcomed the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s Deputy Director for EU Exit Strategy Mr. Theo Rycroft for a working lunch on Friday, 13th of July.

The meeting was particularly significant in view of the fact that the British Government published its white paper on the Brexit process just the day before.

During the meeting, the sides reviewed current political developments in both countries and mutually agreed on the importance of strengthen their special relationship. The Deputy State Secretary confirmed that Hungary has an interest in a fair Brexit and welcomed the British proposal to maintain the status and rights of Hungarian citizens living in the United Kingdom following the withdrawal from the EU.
