On public television on Monday, Minister of State Lászlóné Németh announced that, having received the necessary operating permit, the First National Utility Company (ENKSZ) may start operating in the gas sector on 1 April.
The Minister of State for National Financial Services and Postal Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office said that consumers can inquire about the options open to them at the recently opened customer service points of Főgáz and Magyar Posta. A list of locations at which they can change service providers – designated post offices – will be available on the Főgáz and ENKSZ websites.
Mrs. Németh also announced that as a next step, the First National Utility Company may be present in the electricity sector at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. Finally, as a third step the company will serve as an alternative provider in the district heating sector, but an exact time for this has not yet been set.
